Where "Big Hearts" Make
Healthy Hearts Possible

Made possible as part of a $445,000 grant to establish Sarasota Memorial Hospital's Patient Safety lab.

This eight month old "baby" breathes, coughs, and cries - simulating a wide range of critical conditions to provide the medical staff with hands-on training for pediatric emergencies.

Contributions from Intertape Polymer Group, the Roberta Leventhal Sudakoff Foundation and The Harry Sudakoff Foundation made this grant possible.

Donations totaling $105,000 to the Healthcare Foundation, from people like you, established the Cardiovascular Disease Assessment Center at Sarasota Memorial's Institute for Advanced Medicine.

Under the medical direction of board-certified cardiologists, an assessment team uses the latest non-invasive heart, lung and circulation tests available to detect abnormalities associated with cardiovascular disease in men and women.

on Surgery

Helping to advance nursing skills and education at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, the Healthcare Foundation made grants totaling $118,000 last year.

With continuing education, the nursing staff of Sarasota Memorial Hospital is among the finest in the nation. Healthcare Foundation grants are a contributing factor in the hospital receiving the Magnet Award for its nursing excellence.

A $96,729 grant from the Healthcare Foundation provided this highly specialized patient operating room table.

This state-of-the-art surgical table provides position changes of the patient, allowing optimal surgical visualization as well as correct ergonomics for the surgeon. More than 1,000 spinal surgeries are performed every year at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

When Healthcare Can't Wait

There is a state-of-the-art Emergency Care Center waiting for you 24/7. A grant of $7.5 million by the Healthcare Foundation helped make it possible.

The new Emergency Care Center at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, with the finest doctors and staff, provides for your safety and health in the event of any emergency. Each year approximately 80,000 patients are cared for with the help of the Healthcare Foundation grant.
