We are pleased to announce that we will be offering online giving by the beginning of February, 2008 - with Visa and MasterCard - for your convenience.

After nearly 25 years in our current location, we have moved our business office from 1838 Waldemere Street to 1515 South Osprey Avenue in Building B in the Pine Tree Center at the northeast corner of Waldemere Street and South Osprey Avenue. This new office will allow us the opportunity to increase our programs and staff to better serve the entire community of Sarasota County in the future.

The Healthcare Foundation, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, and the Cardiovascuar Center of Sarasota, will be sponsoring the 4th Annual Cardiovascular Symposium: Disease Prevention Update 2008 on Saturday, Feb. 9 2008, in the educational auditorium at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Distinguished guest speakers will address fundamentals relevant to cardiovascular diseases, including obesity and cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, and automatic external defibrillator (AED) as a life saver. The afternoon session from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. is open to the public at no charge.

Our Annual Healthcare Education Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, at Michael’s On East. The featured speaker will be Sarasota Memorial’s 2006-2007 Chief of Surgery Ashvin Patel, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in spinal surgery. Dr. Patel utilizes the latest techniques and technologies, such as the new $240,000 surgical microscope provided by a grant from the Healthcare Foundation to the hospital, through your generosity. The cost for this event is $25 per person.

The 7th Annual Physicians Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008, at a location to be determined. Proceeds raised from this annual event will benefit the Physicians Endowment, a fund established for educational opportunities for Sarasota Memorial employees.
