Information is updated regularly, however, please refer to your provider directory to ensure that Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is a participating provider accepted by your insurance plan or contact your insurance company member services. |
In addition to the following list, Sarasota Memorial accepts all Original Medicare Plans, standard Medigap/Medicare Supplemental plans and most private "fee for service" Medicare Advantage health plans. Except in emergency situations, Sarasota Memorial does NOT ACCEPT Medicare Advantage HMO, PPO or POS plans, or Universal's "Any, Any, Any" Plan.
Medicare Select Supplemental Plan members may seek care at Sarasota Memorial, even though it may not be listed as a network provider. Depending on your plan benefits, Medicare Select members may be responsible for the Part A deductible for non-emergency hospital care. Check with your insurance company as some will, on a case-by-case basis, choose to pay that deductible when providers are not in its network.

Update for Blue Cross/Blue Shield members: |
Sarasota Memorial accepts most Blue Cross and Blue Shield insurance plans, including standard Medicare supplemental plans and private fee-for-service plans.
Although SMHCS does not contract with Blue Cross/Blue Shield's Medicare Select Plan, patients with this plan still may choose Sarasota Memorial for their care, but will be responsible for the Part A deductible for any non-emergency hospital stays. The Part A deductible will be waived for emergency admissions.
In addition, except for emergency situations, SMHCS does not typically accept Medicare Advantage HMO, PPO or POS plans.
