Neuro Specialty Programs
Many people with chronic neurologic disorders benefit from an interdisciplinary evaluation and collaborative approach to their care. Sarasota Memorial’s Neuro Specialty Programs combine the expertise and experience of several specialists to review your individual concerns. Core team members include a neurologist, nurse, social worker and pharmacist, and depending upon your individual condition and needs, other specialists may be involved in your evaluation.

Muscular Dystrophy/ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease Clinic
Comprehensive outpatient clinic providing multidisciplinary consultation, counseling, rehabilitation, treatment and case management/referral services for people affected by neuromuscular disorders, such as ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease),Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Inclusion Body Myositis, Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, Hereditary Neuropathy, Friedreich’s Ataxia, Myasthenia Gravis, Spinal/Bulbar Muscular Atrophy (Kennedy’s Disease), Charcot-Marie Tooth Disease, Dermatomyositis and Polymyositis. Neuro Challenge Comprehensive Care Center
Comprehensive outpatient clinic providing diagnostic, treatment and referral services, educational and emotional support, and complementary therapies and programs for those affected by Parkinson Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and other movement disorders. Services provided by Board-Certified Neurologist Dean P. Sutherland, MD, PhD, and Sarasota Memorial’s team of neuroscience professionals.

Brain Tumor Support Group
The support group is specially designed to help survivors affected with all types of brain tumors and to educate our community on living with any type of brain tumor diagnosis. This program provides direction, motivation and support for survivors living with brain tumors and for their families who love and care for them. The group offers a positive & rewarding program that supports empowerment & quality of life for all survivors. The group includes open forum discussions led by Marilyn Tait, Sarasota Memorial’s neuroscience nurse educator as well as breakout sessions with survivors and their loved ones.
