Pain Psychologist
To assist in the overall management of your pain, your pain doctor may recommend you have a consultation with the Pain Psychologist because research has demonstrated that people who have chronic pain usually manage their pain better within the context of a comprehensive pain plan. When all of your physical and emotional strengths and needs can be identified, your ability to manage your pain is more likely to be successful.
Referral to the Pain Psychologist
Psychological evaluation and treatment recommendations
Short-term individual group therapy
Counseling and stress management
Pain self-management education and training
Relaxation training
Biofeedback
Family counseling for pain management
Referral to the Pain Psychologist
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment, so that you will have plenty of relaxed time to give us some important information. You should plan to be at the Pain Psychology office for about two (2) hours.
