Diabetes Treatment education
 Sarasota Memorial Diabetes Treatment Services, an ADA-Recognized Program (American Diabetes Association), offers comprehensive diabetes management. Under the supervision of your personal physician, our team of interdisciplinary experts, including diabetes nurse educators, our registered dietician and pharmacist, we will work with you to help prevent the complications of diabetes. Left unmanaged, diabetes increases your risk of: blindness, nerve damage, kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease. Knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge is your greatest tool to prevent complications.

How Our Program Works
Sarasota Memorial Diabetes Treatment Services provides a Diabetes Educator to assess your skills and needs. This assessment includes consulting with your primary care physician and tracking your improvement through blood sugar monitoring and other pertinent laboratory data.
Depending on your needs, treatment and educational classes are offered in groups or on an individual basis. Since each person is different, we tailor our treatment program to fit your specific needs.
After completing the classes, you return for follow-up visits. Here, we can review your goals and address any concerns or questions. We encourage you to bring a friend or family member to class for support. If needed, you can repeat the class any time within one year, free of charge.
