Results from our community partnerships
with businesses, religious congregations, schools and universities,
social service agencies,
civic organizations, individuals and other health care organizations
have been gratifying: A strong community focus on prevention and
wellness is stretching ever farther across the county, promoting
healthier behaviors, and in doing so, improving children’s
performance in school, employees’ productivity at work and
generally resident’s quality of life.
Caring for the community includes a
healthy dose of education and prevention. Each year, Sarasota Memorial
hosts community events to promote health and prevent illness, including
health fairs, screenings, seminars and support groups. An important
component is a special partnership with the faith community through
Parish Nursing that integrates faith and health in the daily life
of local parishioners.
