Radiology Services and Procedures
The Radiology Services Department now boasts a General
Radiography area with six brand new private Digital X-ray rooms.
In 5 of the rooms, SMHCS has chosen the Siemens
Axiom Iconis R200 Fluoroscopy
system. These rooms
accommodate all fluoroscopy exams to include gastro-intestinal,
genito-urinary exams, tomography, as well as all routine
radiography.
This is state of the art Digital Radiography equipment that
is capable of immediate acquisition of all images taken, meaning
that the images are immediately available for viewing on a computer
screen. This eliminates the need for X-ray film to be developed. Your physician can immediately access your images through our
specialized Radiology Web Browser.
In the event that you need actual films, we can provide this
through our Film Loans Department.
Our sixth room is a Siemens Axiom Aristos VX system.
This system accommodates all chest X-rays as well as skeletal
exams. A digital image
is produced in 7 seconds.
By providing our patient's with a digital department, we
have significantly improved our customer service. We have decreased wait times as a result of more
efficient workflow, and more importantly, without the time spent to
develop actual films, we address the needs of our patient.

Care System Radiology Services for the actual imaging, as well as
SMH Radiology Associates for the interpretation of the images. If
