• In the hospital – Sarasota Memorial’s Comprehensive Rehabilitation Unit
Sarasota Memorial’s Comprehensive Rehabilitation Unit (CRU) is a hospital within a hospital – a 34-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit dedicated to helping people recover from strokes, neurological diseases, and other disabling disorders or injuries affecting your muscles, bones and joints. It is medically supervised and staffed around-the-clock with the most highly skilled rehab nurses and therapists in the region. Our CRU has earned the highest level of accreditation awarded by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and has the only accredited Stroke Specialty Program in the region.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization that provides accreditation to rehabilitation and human services providers from the United States, Canada, Europe, and South America. Its mission and purpose is to promote and improve the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services that enhance the lives of the persons served. For your care and convenience, Sarasota Memorial rehabilitation services are available on an outpatient basis at several locations throughout the county.
• At home or in assisted living facilities/nursing homes – Sarasota Memorial Home Care Services: Sarasota Memorial’s specially trained home health nurses and therapists and specialized disease management and post-surgery programs help speed your recovery and help manage serious or chronic medical conditions at home.
• In Sarasota Memorial’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, a short- and long-term skilled nursing facility with the highest 5-star quality rating by Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration: Nestled among orange groves in a serene and peaceful setting near I-75 and Clark Road, the Sarasota Memorial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center offers comprehensive rehab and skilled nursing care with all of the comforts of home. |
