Mission-Driven Care
For more than 80 years, Sarasota Memorial has been the region's most trusted name in health care. Since 1925 – when a group of dedicated women in this community helped raise the funds to build the county's first modern hospital – Sarasota Memorial has been helping women take important steps to safeguard their health and family at each and every stage of life – from maternity to motherhood to maturity.
Today, Sarasota Memorial is nationally recognized for its obstetrical program, high-risk pregnancy care and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for critically ill newborns and premature babies – mission-driven services no other hospital in the county provides.
Indeed, Sarasota Memorial is the only hospital in this four-county region with an intensive care nursery, and the only hospital in Sarasota County with a dedicated inpatient Pediatrics Unit for children, adolescents and teens. Our team of pediatric specialists and a special partnership with All Children's Hospital ensures that children with even the most complicated health issues have access to the most advanced pediatric care in the nation, while remaining close to home, cared for by doctors they know and trust.
From routine to rare life-saving procedures, Sarasota Memorial is proud to set the benchmark for women's and children's care in our community. We have more than 750 physicians on staff, board-certified in more than 50 medical specialties, and supported by some of the most highly skilled, caring nurses and patient care teams in the nation.
